Quick Summary

Alisha films this from a friend's back porch in Murphys, California. Homes in the foothills come with trees, views, and wildlife. They may also come with much higher homeowners insurance because of wildfire risk. Get an insurance quote early so it doesn't surprise you.

I wanted to put together a quick little FAQ. I'm on the back porch of my best friend's house up in Murphys, California, a beautiful little town. If you haven't been, you need to visit.

This view has incredible nature, trees, and hummingbirds. Living in the foothills is such a blessing. But if you're buying here, remember that insurance may cost quite a bit more.

With dense trees, the chance of wildfire is higher, and that may push your insurance cost up. So factor that in when you're looking at homes in the foothills, so you're not surprised.

Just a quick tip from the beautiful spot I get to work from this morning. Have a great day.
