Quick Summary

If you plan to buy in the next six to 12 months, a few moves may hurt your loan. Opening new credit, buying a car, changing jobs, or moving large sums without a paper trail may delay or even stop approval. The safest step is to call your lender before any big money move.

Video Transcript

If you're thinking of buying a home in the next six to 12 months, your lender is begging you not to do these things.

Don't open new credit cards. Don't buy an expensive car. Don't quit your job or go self-employed right before applying. Don't move large amounts of money between accounts without a paper trail.

Any of these may delay or even stop your approval. The best thing you can do is call me before you make a big move. Please let me be your first call.
