Quick Summary

Shopping your loan and rate is smart, and a good loan officer should welcome it. Alisha's job is to work in your best interest. If another lender can truly take good care of you and beat her pricing, she is happy for you. If a lender gets upset when you shop, that may be a sign to look elsewhere.

I want to talk about something super important for buyers: shopping your loan and shopping your rate.

I know a lot of loan officers don't want their clients shopping. But it's my job to always work in your best interest. So I'm never afraid for you to shop your rate.

If you find another lender who will take good care of you and can truly beat my rate or pricing, I'm not mad at all. I'm happy for you. Of course I want your business. But I'll always work in your best interest, and I hope we can work together in the future.

So buyers, please never be afraid to shop your rate. And if a lender gets upset when you shop, you may want to look at a different lender, because that makes me question whose interest they're working in.
